ABOUT ME
HOW DID I GET STARTED AS A DESIGNER?
At Ball and Chain, in Stamford, I have worked with various clients such as Time-Warner, GTE, Discovery Channel, History Channel, and National Geographic to design broadcast graphics and animations. I also was of the key staff people who worked on the annual Life Magazine Eisie Awards for Magazine Photojournalism.
WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING LATELY?
Recently, I have been working with RWS Life Sciences in their Multimedia department to localize courseware, multimedia and apps into various different languages. It has been a great learning experience and has given me a new appreciation for those who plan ahead with the goal of distributing their materials to a global audience.
Before joining RWS Life Sciences, I managed several corporate elearning and multimedia projects for NetDimensions Interactive. Most of my career has been developing web-based courseware for various branches of defense for the United States government as well as large corporations. I continuously look for ways to raise the bar when it comes to ways of engaging the target audience. One of the goals I set for myself at AECOM was to significantly change the way that people respond to interactive training. As one of the founding member of the graphics group in the AECOM Groton office, my responsibilities included producing, shooting, compositing, and editing videos for internal and external clients internationally, coordinating course production with other managers, training new designers, developing SOPs for improving product development, offering estimates on potential bids and working with programmers and writers to complete web-based, SCORM-compliant courseware that run on Learning Management Systems (LMS). Many of the courses developed require government security clearance. Although it was a supervisors position, I love creating animated 2D/3D graphics, editing and compositing video, audio production alongside with the rest of my team.
HOW DO I DO IT?
I am continually updating my skills. I have completed several courses at fxphd that have broadened my experience. These courses cover various subjects ranging from DSLR cinematography, audio production, as well as video compositing and editing.
